Wear something fun! The party takes place at a beerhall, so no need to pull out your full-length gowns and tuxedos. Dressy casual. Try a cute dress or jumpsuit! A nice shirt with some slacks! Ray isn’t wearing a tie, so neither must you.
Take the night off and leave the little ones at home! We politely request no children attend the party. Thank you for your understanding.
No! While Radegast is known for their selection of German beers, other beverages including wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic options will be available for you to wet your whistle.
As a German beer hall, Radegast will be serving German-style snacks and a buffet-style dinner. Think pretzels, sausages, schnitzel, etc. If you’ve never had German food before, trust us – it is good!
Yes! Please reach out to us if you have any questions about the accessibility of the venue.
Yes! For those of you who want to party late into the (Sunday) night, we will continue to celebrate after the official event. Details TBD.
More often than not, the train is the fastest way to get about NYC. We suggest that you use Google or Apple maps to help plan your trip. Radegast is a 7 minute walk from the Bedford Avenue L stop. Please let us know if you need a hand figuring it out!
There is a parking garage on Berry Street between N 3rd and N 4th, half a block away from the venue. Long Island folks - you will presumably be coming off of the BQE expressway to arrive at the venue. Take exit 32B for Metropolitan avenue and continue straight down Metropolitan. There are parking lots on both N 3rd Street and Metropolitan Ave (between Wythe and Berry), just up the block from Radegast!
A personal favorite of ours! You can take the East River Route ferry line and get off at the North Williamsburg stop; Radegast is only a 10 minute walk from the ferry station. You can board this line at any of the following ferry stations: Hunter's Point South, East 34th Street, Greenpoint, South Williamsburg, Dumbo, and Wall Street. *There is a bar on the boat
The Penny Hotel is a four star hotel located at 288 N 8th St, Williamsburg. It is a quick 12 minute walk to the venue and rooms are going for roughly $400 a night.
WebsiteThe Coda is located right at the western corner of McCarren Park and is also about a 12 minute walk to the venue. Rooms are currently going for around $325 a night.

Located in Long Island City, Queens (not to be confused with thee Long Island) it is a lovely little spot that is only a 15 minute Uber ride to the venue or a 30 minute ride by subway. (Take the G to the L train and get off at the Bedford Ave stop). Rooms are currently going for around $250 a night for a standard room. *It also has a rooftop (without a pool)
WebsiteOur Favorite Spots In Astoria
Everyone knows we are obsessed with Astoria, the part of Queens where we live. Here are a few of our recommendations in the area if you make the trip:
- Any Greek restaurant: Astoria is Greektown, so there are celebrated Greek restaurants around every corner.
- Dominies (30th Ave): Come here for happy hour and their excellent thin-crust pizza. Ray recommends sausage and jalapeno; Carolyn suggests olives and arugula.
- The LetLove Inn: Ray’s favorite bar in the world
- Jack Jones: A lovely and cozy Irish pub with good Guinness and food.
- Mighty Oak Roasters: NYC’s only fire-roasted coffee shop (at least that’s what we heard).
- Dillingers: Pub & Grill: A sports-bar type pub that has played an important part in Ray and Carolyn’s relationship. Get the rum punch!
- The Museum of the Moving Image: Did you know that Astoria was Hollywood before Hollywood was Hollywood? You can visit Kermit the Frog Here
- Astoria Park
The Astoria Ferry
Sure, you’ve heard of the Staten Island Ferry, but what about the Astoria Ferry? This is one of our favorite dates! For $4.50, you can ping-pong between Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn on the roof of a boat! You cruise under the Queensboro, Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridge. Bonus: There is a bar on the boat, so grab a beer or claw and enjoy the view!
Our Favorite Spots In Long Island City
Despite its name, Long Island City not where Ray grew up. It is a very hip and fun part of Queens. Some of our favorite spots include:
- Focal Point Brewery: Enjoy local beers inside or in their cool outdoor space. Try the tacos or nachos from the place nextdoor. Bonus: There are typically many good doggys to admire.
- The Huntress: Come for their smoked chicken wings (“dragon style”) and poutine.
- The Baroness: Excellent burgers, but it’s worth checking out for the bathroom alone (weird, I know, but trust us).
- Gantry Plaza State Park: A nice park with a view with an iconic Pepsi-Cola sign and a view of the Manhattan skyline. A prime spot to watch the sunset.
- Dominies (Vernon Ave): The LIC counterpoint to the Astoria Domines; just as cool
City Parks
We are huge fans of a picnic in a park! If you want to indulge in this time-honored tradition while in town, check out Astoria Park (where we got engaged), Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, or Domino Park in in Williamsburg. All offer plenty of green space for sitting and hanging and are located right on the East River.
Our Favorite Spots In Williamsburg
Since the wedding itself is in Williamsburg, let’s take a look at some of our Williamsburg favorites:
- The Commodore: Life changing chicken sandwich and piña coladas
- Ontario Bar: A Canada themed bar 🇨🇦
- The Charleston: You get a free tasty little pizza with every drink order.
- Heatonist: An artisanal hot sauce store for all the spice fans in town
- They have a ferry stop here, too, if you want to take a boat ride!
